David Silverman, MA, LMFT, is a seasoned professional with an impressive educational background. He graduated from Stanford University with Departmental Honors in psychology, where he honed his skills in using evidence-based methods to address a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, compulsive behavior, and psychotic symptoms. His dedication to helping others led him to work at the Palo Alto Veteran’s Clinic, where he supported clients returning from war, facing physical and emotional challenges, and dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder. Later, David earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, deepening his understanding of mindfulness, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Therapy.
While David's expertise is diverse, he has a special passion for assisting creative individuals in various fields, from advertising executives to actors, artists, filmmakers, and especially writers. David collaborates with creative professionals, notably Hollywood writers, to help them overcome writer's block, enhance their writing skills, explore the psychology of writing, employ creative writing tools, navigate career burnout, reinvent themselves, and break into the industry through 'Breaking In; Alternative Strategies'—a class he's taught at UCLA.
